Provo Ponies

Upon reviewing the email confirmation, I was reminded to wear closed-toe shoes, but they provide them on-site. Water shoes are also ok and recommended since you end up in the ocean while riding a horse. I didn't want to wear my only pair meant for the airport so I ended up borrowing a pair of sneakers to ensure I could participate. The overall experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were incredibly patient and attentive, especially considering it was my first time riding a horse. The commands were easy to grasp, and I was paired with a lovely horse named Rosalee. We embarked on a delightful 15-minute stroll to the beach via the roads, eventually venturing into the ocean with our horses. The staff encouraged us to wade deeper, allowing the horses to cool off. Throughout the ride, I learned about horse behavior and appreciated discovering each horse's individual quirks. This experience served as a fitting finale to my time on the beautiful island of Turks and Caicos. The excursion lasted approximately 2 hours, leaving us with ample time to enjoy lunch before heading to the airport.

Amazing experience all around. The staff was hospitable and welcoming upon entering and we were as greeted with all the necessities that I was unprepared for like shoes that can and will get wet and a fanny pack to bring your camera safely.
The most important aspect of the experience was their love and care for the animals. We had the biggest horses with the calmest temperament, they were a pleasure to ride.

This was definitely on the bucket list. They were very helpful and would use your cameras to take your pictures and they gave you plenty of ride time as well. Speaking of the ride, well they actually ride you out into the ocean and for a good while so be prepared to get cooled off and they have horses for all experience levels.

Second ride with Provo Ponies! Went last year and had to return this year with friends. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT! Last year I rode Max who was a perfect gentleman but was being treated for an injury this trip. This year I rode Pilgrim who was also wonderful. Our group of 7 enjoyed the experience! Wonderful staff and wonderful horses. Love that all the horses are rescues and they are very well cared for. We will be returning to the island in October and may see you again! Thank you all!

We visited recently and had the best experience! The staff was amazing and the horses were so friendly. The take very good care of them. We did a few other activities while we were on the island. This was the best!

ProvoPonies was amazing! My wife and I went on a guided group tour during our Honeymoon. The staff was amazing and so friendly getting us started. We are beginners and they made us feel very comfortable - pairing us with horses that they knew would be easy for us to ride. The staff took photos for us and were so kind along the way, even giving us additional tips and recommendations for activities during our stay on the island. The horses are well loved and taken care of. Highly recommend!

LOVE Provo Ponies! If you are an animal lover this is a must visit on the island. This was our second trip to Provo and our second ride with Provo Ponies. We had an afternoon ride with two skilled and knowledgeable guides who did an excellent job managing riders with a variety of experience levels. I was lucky enough to ride the “boss lady” of the herd, Mango! I had a wonderful time in the ocean with Miss Mango and especially enjoyed when she ran in the water, it’s a feeling like no other! Everyone at Provo Ponies was warm and kind and you can tell they all really care about the animals and go above and beyond to care for them. They also give each rider personalized attention and instruction when they match you up with a horse to ensure you are comfortable before you start the ride. It makes for a really great experience for any rider. Make reservations well in advance because they are popular (deservedly so!).

We had an amazing time at Provo Ponies! I have been riding my whole life and can assure these horses are incredibly well taken care of and are happy and healthy. The staff was very kind and helpful. Riding in the ocean was incredible — so beautiful and the horses love it. Would absolutely recommend this experience for horse lovers and anyone looking for a unique, fun time on the island. It’s important to remember that horses are animals, not machines! This place does an amazing job.

Oops. Apparently, I mistakenly stated it was Kelly that stayed with me, when it was Grace, the younger guide, although Kelly did a wonderful job leading the group.

Honestly, the experience would have been much better for me if I was able to share it with my husband, who decided not to come along due to problems with a poorly trained and ornery horse.
We were never on horses before and neither were 3 others in our group, which were grandkids of a couple there. Maybe the guides that went with you felt there were too many novices for one group, and of course, they couldn't split the family with kids up, so they were able to get my husband to quit by giving him a very large horse that kept bucking and pulling the reins out of his hands. One of the guides even punched the horse, which made the horse more irritable and upset.
Instead of insisting on a different horse, my husband just stayed behind at the stables; he was being cautious, especially not knowing what the ride was going to be like regarding terrain, etc, and didn’t want to venture out on a horse that was not cooperating, especially since they kept repeating that you had to be able to handle the horses through the ‘jungle’, or they would only stop and eat the vegetation and not proceed on the path. It was a terrible experience for him, plus they charged me full price for both of us anyway!
I did go out with them, and Kelly took really good care of me. She made sure I was always close by and that I felt safe and secure, which I did. The ride was pretty easy, considering there were no mountains or anything like that. The first part of the ride is on a road with cars, but the horses and cars were fine and seemed used to each other. Second part is uphill slightly on a sand path to the beach. It’s narrow, with bushes on both sides, but again, the horses and guides did a fine job helping everyone get through. Then on to the beach, where you were in the warm beautiful waters of TCI. The guides took pictures with your own camera while there and walked us about a half mile or so in the water and then back to the stables on the same route. Exciting, maybe not, but for someone who just wants to scratch off riding a horse from their bucket list, good enough.
So.my suggestion is, if you have never ridden before and if they give you, I think his name is Pilot, insist on another horse or you’ll be out $400 too.

They were able to slot us in last minute and we had a great time! Highly recommend if you're coming to Turks and Caicos, very friendly staff. We misunderstood and thought tip was included in the cost but after some research we realized it is not - so please remember to tip!

This riding experience is a must when visiting Turks and Caicos. A very well run stables with well cared for horses and extremely knowledgeable staff. I can’t thank Camille, Kelly, Deron and Grace enough. What a truly magnificent experience which I will never forget!

Was so nervous having zero riding experience (and getting paired with the biggest horse there). Staff was amazing and I would do it 100x over again. There is always a guide to help everywhere you turn.

I had a lovely outing with Provo Ponies on my Honeymoon. The staff was very welcoming and helpful and of course the horses were beautiful. It was a unique experience to ride horses down the beach and into the ocean! The only downfall was that the horse my husband was supposed to ride got injured and they didn't have another horse for his weight group available, so I went alone. But they refunded us and were apologetic. I would recommend this outing for any occasion!

We had the BEST experience booking with Provos! All the staff were friendly and I loved that they took the time to review the personality of your horse with you. Shows they really cared and wanted the best experience for horse and rider. They happily take photos for you while riding and take you to such a gorgeous spot that it honestly doesn’t feel real. 100% would book with them again.

Our family had an amazing experience with the Provo ponies and the entire staff. It was so well run and an all around very positive experience. I would put this on your must-do list while in Provo

I had an amazing time on my ride with Provo Ponies. It was more than I expected with how much time we got to spend in the water with the horses. What impressed me most was how in tune each staff member was with each horse and the horses individual personalities. Actually, it helped to put me at ease since I’m not an experienced rider. They took the time to instruct me enough to feel comfortable for my ride. My horse Samson had a mind of his own but, the staff reassured me he would take care of me on my ride and he did. In the water I felt safe and the staff got some cool shots and videos of me. I accomplished something I dreamed of doing, riding a horse on the beach but, got so much more! I would definitely recommend.

We had a large group of 11 people. They took some outstanding pictures for us and had alot of patients and very warm hearted. This was better than any other activity we had booked. We will be back on our next visit.
