63Always a great time at Jack's! Keep up the good work Guy! We love what you're doing.
Loved the laid back atmosphere! Beach wasn't crowded and the water was clear and beautiful. Food was delicious and drinks were Strong!
TOURIST TRAP! Higher prices than the rest of the island. I ordered the Conch at $21 but elsewhere it is $14. The food is good, however, there is absolutely NO service. You pay at the desk and they hand you a ticket. They don’t tell you that you need to turn that ticket in but you do. Afterwards, you will never know when your order is actually up and they make you wait outside of the ‘shack’. It gets really crowded and hot as there were NO FANS ON under the tarp. There is no water except for $2 bottles of which is hard to believe since it’s a restaurant in 90 degree heat and Sun, but if you pay for a chair they’ll bring it to you for free. Me myself, I waited and watched at least 20-30 minutes as literally several individuals got my food before me and was asked 3 times what I had ordered. I explained my frustration to the 2 individuals behind the counter and they’d apologize but offer no explanation. People would pick up dishes and plates but that was literally all there was for service. When you’re on vacation you shouldn’t be waiting in line for a half an hour, the least they can do is bring your food to you if there’s that kind of wait and not screw your order up multiple times. DO NOT RECOMMEND and of course they’ll chime in trying to cover this review with a sorry but not sorry comment. I’m just trying to warn my fellow travelers to not fall for the same trap I did. When I came off from an excursion it was offered as a drop off a ways from the other restaurants, we figured it be nice to have some service and some cover after being in the Sun. However, standing in line for 30 minutes waiting for an order as me and others talk about what the hell was going on in the back was as relaxing as that place got.
We decided to drop in on this highly rated establishment and was severely disappointed
Buy your drinks here
Pay for you food there
Line up and pick up your food over there
Bought two drinks (extremely slow service) and was told “$8 actually $9”
I paid with a $20
Eventually got change of $9 to which i questioned - I got a no response other than the bar tender went to the register and produce a receipt and placed it in front of me.
Lots of words and cover sound on the receipt that now totalled $10: 01
Again I questioned the change given - I got “I have no coins so it’s $9 change”
Two plates of Food produced approximately 8 minutes apart from a line up that was only looked at when you arrived at the window having lined up for a considerable length of time
Not Impressed with this one!
On the bar tender and the change - another patron said to me “you’ll get no where - he’s been doing that all day”
Such an awesome place. Great food, drinks, atmosphere, and view. Our favorite food was the conch fritters and jerk chicken combo. The drinks were awesome also my favorite was the rum punch.
We spent a great day here. The process of ordering and getting food was time consuming and I had to stand in two different lines. Food was good and we would definitely go back.
The drinks were good and strong, bartenders were so much fun, and the food was AMAZING. Would definitely go back! Highly recommend the blue margarita and sandy vagina. Wish they had more shirts in their gift shop but other than that it was amazing!
Our cruise ship ported for the day. The food and drinks were excellent. The service was even better! Harley was fantastic and so much fun! We tried way too many of the drinks, but we have no regrets. We’ll definitely come back! Guy, the new general manager, is all about customer service and has great ideas to invest in the local economy. Jack’s Shack is a MUST VISIT location!
Beachfront location! Great fresh catch, great jerk chkn, awesome drinks! Spent a couple hours here eating, drinking, swimming and soaking in some rays. A real paradise! So glad we chose Jack's Shack to spend our time while on Grand Turk.
Apparently there is a new owner. We signed up for the free rum shot on their website & the bartender said that didn’t exist & you’d only get a free rum shot with a merchandise purchase or something. Kept arguing with me until I showed him the website where it’s very much still posted, & then he still wouldn’t honor it. They were so rude, we didn’t bother getting a drink or bite. We stopped by margaritaville instead, the prices were actually better there & I thoroughly enjoyed my drink. Was definitely disappointed by jacks though.
Very strong drinks situated far away from the mob of mainstream cruisers. Beach was great. Not big on the profanity laced music.
Looks a little scratchy from the street side where we entered, if you are going off the boat and want something a little different than what "Margaritaville" (which we loved) this is a good spot.
Great vibes, amazing drinks, friendly service, tasty and fresh food, gorgeous beach and the cutest Caribbean pups. Love this place!
Perfect place to relax and enjoy the most beautiful water I have ever seen. Plenty of shaded seats, steps from the ocean.
Best jerk chicken I’ve had. Definitely recommend buying a couple bottles of sauce to bring home.
Best place to chill and be treated like royalty! Stopped by Jacks shack today off the Carnival Mardi Gras today July 21st. Erin, Jacks daughter is so nice and accommodating. And boy does she make strong drinks! My wife and in-laws loved it! Jack is very humble and down to earth talking to all the guests. He built the Carnival pier and just stayed. We brought him jello for shots but could not stay long as the ladies wanted to shop. Oh, it’s not a shack. That’s just the name. He has beach chairs and umbrellas right on the beach, full bar, covered dining, and a gift shop. You can easily walk to his place. Just go left off the pier around 500 feet and it’s right there. Or hop in a cab it’s $4 per person for a four minute ride from the pier. Don’t forget to say hello to Calypso the beautiful dog on site
Location is about a 10-15 minute walk from the cruise port along the beach. Small restaurant with seating all outdoors. Place gets packed during cruise days but worth the wait. We had the jerk chicken and crack conch. The food and drinks are a bit cheaper than Margaritaville but you don’t have the amenities. Great views of the beach as the restaurant sits oceanfront.
Our first stop when we stop in Grand Turk. Great food and we love the owners. Enjoy an amazing drink and pet the dogs!
Where do I start every time I visit Grand Turk I must visit Jacks Shack. The best conch fritters and rice I have every had in my life. They always make you feel welcomed
And you feel like family when you visit. I can’t wait to go back in September and February. What I would give to have one in the states.
So great to see the pups! Sorry they are selling and will not have the dogs anymore. It was my reason for going to grand turk.
